I love hearing about my couples’ love stories! Megan and Joe met on Tinder and their mutual love for adventures and rock climbing brought them together. Joe later proposed to Megan at the same park where they had their first date and she was completely surprised! M + J chose to elope instead of having a traditional wedding ceremony because they wanted to have an intimate experience. They chose Telluride as their location since they had visited before and fell in love with the scenery and mountains. I was so excited when they contacted me to capture their memories!
Leading up to their Telluride elopement, they road tripped all the way from New Jersey! Along the way, they made several stops to explore and create memories. They made their Colorado elopement one big adventure throughout the country! Their trusted pup, B.J. accompanied them on their cross country road trip and Telluride elopement.
The day before Megan and Joe’s sunrise elopement, I drove to Telluride to scout the location to ensure everything was good to go. The plan was to have their ceremony on a lake with gorgeous mountain views. I was so thankful that I drove early because the road down to the dream spot was closed!! After driving for a bit, we found a new route to the lake. I wasn’t too worried because there are SO many dreamy locations in Telluride.
I met Megan and Joe at 5:30 am for their sunrise elopement. They chose a four hour session, which is enough time to include the elopement ceremony, couple portraits, and an activity! Everything was beautiful: they had their own truck, personalized coffee mugs, ‘Just Married’ signs, and sweet BJ to sign off on their marriage certificate.
Joe’s mother and brother from New Jersey surprised M + J by catching a red eye flight to Denver and driving the whole six hours to Telluride just in time for the ceremony. The rug that they stood on for their ceremony was an important detail as Joe’s father brought it back from Saudi Arabia. Every couple is different for how they want to incorporate family. A little detail like the rug added value and heart to Megan and Joe’s sunrise elopement.
After their sunrise elopement, we all went on the gondola to enjoy some views and take pictures. When you decide to elope in Telluride, there are so many activities you and your partner can do that don’t necessarily require hiking. The gondola ride was perfect for the two of them to continue the fun after their ceremony.
After the gondola, Megan and Joe wanted to walk downtown to see the historic architecture with BJ. Telluride in the summer is beautiful with its streets adorned with colorful flowers. To end the session, I captured some tender moments of Megan and Joe to cherish forever.
I am so grateful to M+J for having me capture their Telluride elopement!
